What is the A-piller?

i was told that it's the best place to put my fm-transmitter for this certian unit

THE A PILLAR IS WHAT RUNS UP THE SIDE BETWEEN YOUR DOOR AND WINDSHIELD. THE PLACE WHERE RACERS PUT THERE GUAGES AND STUFF.

why would you put it there... form cars ive done ive put them back behind the radio or in the trunk... never heard of that... what kind of trans is this?

Put it in the roof liner or the "A" pillar is the best place I found. Low EMI and also highest part of the car without it being in sight. VERY IMPORTATN that you hide the antenna on a 2 way alarm system because the brain can not transmit a signal if it doesn't have an antenna to do so.

oh duh... its an alarm... man... i was in the wrong forum at the wrong time... have you thought about putting it in the dash?

i have it in the dash right now... i took out the bezel and placed it as far away from metal and the insterment cluster as possible.... but the range isnt very good.

i DID have it extended allll the way back to the top of the back window (which somehow got better range then the dash) but i do not want it to be seen and i'm looking for even longer range.

i heard one of you guys say to take it out of the plastic case and putt it in the headliner near the A-piller. would that give me the best range?

not sure if i can stuff that large plastic transmitter into the A-piller... i may have to take it out of the case anyway
