Hi everyone,

I hope I'm in the right section here.  I'm new to this remote and relay business so any help would be greatly appreciated.  Hope you don't mind a few dumb questions.

I have some free channels on a keyfob remote system installed in my car and want to use them to do some other things.

1 - Use 1 channel to activate the gas door release, currently it is operated by a switch.  How would I use a relay to do this?

2 - Use 1 channel simply to turn an accessory on or off?

3 - Use 1 channel to turn on a strobe light system and have it automatically shut off after about 60 seconds.  Can this be done?  How?

Thanks much,

Gary

1 - Use 1 channel to activate the gas door release, currently it is operated by a switch.  How would I use a relay to do this?

>>> at the switch in question, find out what trigger ( signal, either + or - ) is sent when the button is pressed. Using a relay with this switch, your AUX out ( channel one, or what ever) would trigger the relay to send the same signal that  to the wire you tested.

ie. pressing the switch you see a wire goes +. So you set you relay up to send a
+ signal to the wire from your AUX out.

2 - Use 1 channel simply to turn an accessory on or off?

>>> generally same as above, but use a latching relay.

3 - Use 1 channel to turn on a strobe light system and have it automatically shut off after about 60 seconds.  Can this be done?  How?

>>>  use a 528T pulse timer relay to activate the stobe, your AUX out trigger the relay.

To get in to more detail, tell us what polarioty the out puts from you alarm are, and what polarity the devices you wish to activate are triggered with.

Thanks derek123!

All of the channels are negative outputs.   The gas door is -12V.  The strobes are +12V.

Thanks again!
