Vehicle: 2004 Chevy Avalanche

I'm interested in the PowerLock wireless vehicle immobilizer. It appears fairly tamper resistant. Apparently it can be interfaced to the OEM system using a GMDL4.

I would also like to add a 2 way remote/alarm so I can be notified if anyone is tampering with the vehicle. Does anyone know of a 2 way remote than can be programmed to match the PowerLock code. Or vice versa, can the PowerLock code be programmed to match the 2 way remote code. That way the 2 way remote could arm/disarm both systems. Otherwise I would have to carry two fobs around in my pocket. Not so good...

Question: Is DEI 456G equivalent to GMDL4? Which one is more reliable?
