I installed an oem Ford keyless entry with remote start, the keyless entry works great. I also installed the Ford bypass module for the pats, the system won't let me do the tach callibration test, nor will it remote start, it beeps the horn four times when I press the start button. I hooked up the tach wire to the only white\pink wire I found on the pcm behind the battery.
The vehicle is a 2000 F150 SuperCab

Thanks for any help

A couple of questions..Is it the new ford powercode or the old style ford system? Do you have the key-in-sense wire hooked up? You NEED that wire hooked up to learn tach. If so, is the polarity set correctly? When you say it won't let you do tach learning, does that mean it doesn't learn or it won't even go into the mode? (2 horn honks when done correctly?)

Hey Mike,
Thanks for the help. I had a bad connection at the key-in-sense wire. Everything works great, except the abs light stays on till the key is placed in the ignition, I can live with that

Thanks Again

Help, I installed a Ford keyless entry/remote start in a 2000 F-150. I have it hooked to the tach wire at the pcm.
It starts fine when warmed up, but the starter seems to run on to long when cold, then shuts down. I tried the tach learn and all seems to go well, but the same problem exists
Do I need to disconnect power to the unit and start the tach learn that way? or should I be looking for something else?

Thanks for any help

what system is it... the older style ie non powercode ford systems have a cold start problem on 02 and newer explorers with electronic climate control. it might be possible for this on the 150 as well though i have never seen it

The system is a genuine Ford silver I think they call it, It does not have an alarm.

Whether its the old style or the new powercode, have you tried no tach mode to see if that will work for you?

Its the old style, I can't find any info about a no tach mode in this system. There is no lightning bolt on the transmitter.
