Could any one please give me information on permanetly bypassing the stock alarm on a 2003 Ford Escape. Another thing that puzzles me is when I arm the Prestige, the stock alarm also arms right after it. Without me even touching the stock remote. Is it possible that when the doors lock it causes the stock alarm to turn on? Any suggestions would be great. Thank you

PATS and the factory alarm are two totally different things. PATS has to do with the security chip in the key.
No need to permanately disarm the factory alarm. There is a blue/light green wire in the harness coming out of the drivers door. You need to hook up the factory alarm disarm wire from the Prestige to that wire. It will test as a ground when you turn the key in the drivers door to the unlock position.

thank you for the information. Is there a way to not allow the stock alarm to even turn on? I am using the PKU-F1 bypass module. I am having trouble programming it. It says to turn the key to the "on" position. This would not be the "run" position, correct? Has anyone else had trouble with programming this unit?
The blue/light green wire that you refer to is in the harness coming out of the door? I am using the blue/green wire that is in a harness running down the left side of the fuse box. This is also where I got my lock and unlock wire. Am I using the wrong wire?

You could be using the wrong wire. Did you test it? As far as the PATS immobilizer, they can be touchy. Try and place the pellet closer to the sensor ring on the cylinder.

I read on an earlier post that the lock and unlock can be used for arming and disarming the stock alarm. I am having this problem when I arm the Prestige it also arms the factory alarm. But when I disarm the Prestige it doesnt disarm the factory system. I have not hooked into any arm wires for the factory system but it still turns on. Any suggestions would be great

Also, the PKU-F1 doesn't have a keysense wire. What do I need to do so no codes get lost or locked up? thank you again. I am hooking the (-) side to the ign. 3 on the Prestige and red to 12V constant. Is this correct?

The factory alarm should arm with the ock wire. It may only arm with the lock wire when the door is open though, so test it out with the door shut and then when its open.
Look for the factory disarm wire at the GEM behind the center console in a 26 pin plug.

If the door is open and I arm the Prestige it wont arm the stock alarm. but if the door is shut and I arm the Prestige than the factory alarm turns on. Instead of having to disarm the stock alarm is there a way to prevent it from ever turning on? Thank you for your help

Not really. It is possible, but not really worth it. just grab the disarm wire, that is much easier than any permanent disabling.

Is a 1 sec. 300mA pulsed ground enough for the factory disarm wire or do I need a relay? Thank you
