I have installed a Crimeguard AL 100C add-on alarm on my Ex. Everything works, I can set the alarm with the factory remote by locking the doors, but cannot disarm the system with my factory remote. The techs from the dealer from which I bought it from says that I have to connect the driver's door unlock to a RED / orange wire found on the driver side kick panel. I have not found said wire. The tech from the manufacterer says that I could use a pink/orange wire, but it seems not to work. I am at a loss here. Any help on the wire location or any assitance On how I can make this thing disarm with the remote would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

The wire you need will be in the driver's door boot, IMO it is the easiest place to get it at. I have done hundreds of these type of alarms. What year is the excursion? The other problem you may be encoutering is that the pulse that unlocks the driver's door is too short to disable the alarm you put in(2003 in peticular). It could also be, depending on year, at a module high on the driver's side firewall, or if it is 2003 it will also be in the passenger's kick panel.

The Ex is a 2001.  I found a pink/orange wire that has a negative pulse on unlock.  There was a note in the manual that said that the Ford system may need a diode, but the techs told me that this is not the system that is in my Ex.  Could they be in error?
