Hi, I'm installing aa alarm bypass module by DesignTech (dip-switch model). All resistance references are in k-ohms and the measured resistance on the passlock wire is 8.47Meg-ohms. Has anyone encountered such a difference or have any suggestions.

hi i would suggest testing again reverser leads and see if you get same resistance or close to it.  I would also suggest using a no cut style passlock module like the pl 2003 or pl data if the dip switch type fails the car will not start with the key seen it happen a few times i use the no cuts and haven't had a problem and they are easy to program no resistance reading to take just a trimpot to turn

good luck
