i installed a dei add-on on a 02 silverado and every time i hit the button it tries to start but then dies and the security is right the shutdown diagnostics flashes 6 times (neg) shutdown is what the book says          any help would be appreciated DOUGLASS

By saying dei add on, do you mean remote start only? If so, did you use a bypass module?? If not, the PasslockII can be easily bypassed without a module.

check your tach wire and learn
passlock need to be bypass if not done already
