My second last resort - next is pulling out and starting anew...
I just installed a Prostart CT-5060 in my Protege - manual transmission. Powered the unit up and programmed remotes and programmed the tach. Tried it out, remote started perfectly. Once...
Trouble is, I cannot get the unit into ready mode again. Have followed the procedure for getting into ready mode accurately, but the LED does not flash after pressing the remote buttons before pulling the key out.
Any ideas out there.
P.S. I've reset and reprogrammed the unit two times now...
Thanks.
Ready mode? what are you trying to do? im familiar with prostart pieces, but i dont know what "ready mode" is?

hi check your hood pin to make sure you don't have a ground on it at the module its the grey wire ive had them rs a couple of times thenn the hood pin goes out of wack strange. good luck pretend to drive the car eg. release park brake rev motor sometimes they like to see the tach signal change befrore they will go into ready mode also make sure when you learned tach signal it was at regular idle. engine warmed up also it wont sequence if it see's a tach signal that is higher than what it learned at.

Thanks all.
...Checked all the wires again - turns out there was a poor connection for the parking brake (those damn ground connections always give me trouble). Working again perfectly.
Ready mode is ProStart's term for making sure the manual transmission car is ready for a remote start - i.e. making sure it is not in gear and the parking brake is set. Page 12 of the ProStart CT-5060 manual (https://206.47.191.115/prostart/guides/CT-5060_IG_EN_H100S100v103b104.pdf) or see the CT-5060 installation guide at https://www.autostart.ca/prostart/mainSupport.html.
Incidentally, I called ProStart / AutoStart's help line. Very prompt return call...
Thanks for the help.
Next project is installing a RS unit in a 2003 Caravan...
