Hello,

I know this topic has been covered before, but I read all the posts and am still a little confused. Installing an Avital 2200 in a 2002 Ford Mustang, and having false alarms after 30 mins or so. From the previous posts, it appeared that the GEM module going to "sleep" was causing this. I installed diodes in both door triggers and the trunk trigger, but still have the problem. Someone mentioned double diodes but I'm unclear as to how to put them in.

Has anybody defeated this problem?  Can you tell me rather graphically how to install the diodes correctly in the GEM/Trigger wires?

Thanks,

Joe

hi to defeat this you need to relay isolate

Wire a relay as follows:
86 - door trigger wires from car, diode isolated from each other of course.
85 - constant +12v
87 - ground
30 - to door trigger input of remote start.

The pulse the car sends out to the door triggers during the check isn't strong enough to trigger the relay.

this info is courtesey of jworm i had the same problem with 03 it worked great

Yes it always works like that.. the gem moudle sends out just under 100 ma which won't trip the relay.. but opening the door obviously does. Works 100%
