OK. Here it is. I tried to install keyless entry into a car that already had automatic locks. Simple right, tie into the existing lock system and then just hook up a power and ground. Then push the button and yep, it should work. Well it all works. But Instead of running a new power line I just tied into something that had constant power in the drivers door. I am thinking it goes to the power mirrors. Well During my quest to try and find a constant 12v power supply I tried some iginition wires and when i touched one of them it sparked. Well The car started and everything ended up working. But once the owner of the car drove the car around she went to use her blinker. Opps they didn't work. I checked the fuses that were labeled hazard and turn signal and they were fine. Any idea as to what it could be? The keyless entry is working fine running the power from the mirror but is there anyway I tied it into a blinker wire??? Please let me know what you all think it could be. This girl needs her blinkers.

Hey guys, I got an keyless entry kit for my girlfriends 95 oldsmobile achieva. I got a problem. See she had automatic locks already. So all I had to do was tie into her existing lock system and run a power and ground. Pretty basic stuff right? Well I got it all hooked up, worked fine. Then she reports that her blinkers aren't working. For the power wire i tapped into was one on her drivers side door (I am guessing it was one of her power mirror wires). Well the kit still works fine, however the stupid blinkers don’t. Would tying into the power wire where i did cause this??? Please let me know. I checked all the fuses. Nothing. . .

ok here is the deal. I just got done looking at the car again. Here is the latest. Well you turn on the hazard lights, and you can hear the beeps that it normally makes but no lights flash, on the inside or outside. Well if you turn on a blinker while the hazards are on you get the outside lights to flash. If you turn the right blinker on everything will flash but the front left, if you turn on the left then everything will flash but the front right. If you turn off the hazard switch then everything stops. I am so confused. What could it be. No fuses are blown. Could it be a relay??? If any one has an idea. CALL ME ASAP. my number is 785 969 6974. I need to get this finished!!! Or you can post a response. But I don't want her getting a ticket for a busted blinker.

I guess you blew the relay when you connected the keyless entry module.
Try to replace the relay and see what happends.

Sound like you either partially unplugged the switch where the wire comes down the column or the switch is broken. Do you think you might have hit the lever while you were climbing under the dash? It is possible to break the switch internally. I can't think of a relay in the circut that would cause your problem. Think of everything you worked near. Also look for anything else that is not working and try to find a common link. Good luck!

Try unhooking the wires that you used for the keyless and see if the problem persists .
