If you install a button to start your car will it still start if you turn the key all the way or does the button override this?

The button over rides the start on the cylinder. Basically your cutting the start wire and the switch side is just hanging there attached to nothing.

if u choose to do so....I like to do a "starter enable" circuit on the push start buttons that prevents it from cranking the engine if the key isn't in the the cylinder.  Some cars have a nice key sense that can control a relay directly.  another alternative is to use ignition to energize a relay that only allows the push start to work when the key is in the run position.
