I am possibly going to install a remote starter in a 92 grand prix and was just wondering if there is a second ignition in it. One of my wiring diagrams says there is and one of them says there isn't. Any clarification on tis matter would be helpful. Thanx.

There is a second ignition wire you must connect to. It is a dark blue/white stripe and powers the fuel pump.

our sheet says dark blue and white, jst use a meter while you are in there and check, most of the time in a gm second ignition is either gren or white, ignition will stay 12 volts even during crank.

One other question though. If I have a remote start that doesn't come equipped with a second ignition output, can I use a relay to wire the second ignition, and could you give me a diagram of how to do it? Thanx.

On the 92 Grand Prix there is a negative dark blue wire for the door trigger and there are also two other wires for the door lock/unlock that are positive. My question is do I use the dark blue negative wire to hook up the door lock/unlock feature on the remote start or do Iuse the other two positive ones. Any help would be great. Thanx.

That actually doesn't help me this car doesn't have an alarm system or the RAP on it. Just on the wiring diagram for the car there is a positive door trigger wire thats dark blue and two wires for the door lock/unlockwires that are negative and I'm just wondering which wires to use for the door lock/unlock feature on the remote start.

You need a relay for the second ignition. Hook terminal #86 to the ignition wire from the remote starter. The ignition wire from the remote starter must also be hooked up to the pink ignition wire in the car. Terminal #85 of the relay hook to your remote starter's negative out when running wire or it may be called ground out when running. Hook terminal #30 to the fused side of your remotes starter's battery wire. Hook terminal #87 to the blue/white wire in the vehicle (2nd ignition)
The door locks in the vehicle use a 12 volt + pulse on the light blue wire in the kick panels for lock and a 12 volt + pulse on the white wire in the kick panel for unlock. Test the wires with a meter first to make sure you are using the right ones. Yes you must use a relay for the trunk release to convert a negative pulse into a positive pulse.
