Or email perhaps? Looking for wiring diagrams for a 92 Chevy Cavalier and anything specific to to that vehicle and a Valet 554R. I have the wiring diagram from this site printed. Just want to see what the DEI one looks like. Since this is my first DEI install I want to make sure I'm doing it right according to their site. Also as I said in another post I would like the info on how to use the defrost option that is supposed to be built into this alarm. There is no reference of these new features (Dedicated Defroster Output, Turbo Timer, Transmitter Zap which I have never heard of before) in either manual, but is supposedly has them. Are there any supplement documents that refer to these options and configuring them? There is no reference to them anywhere, but yet they seem to be used as selling points if you go to any website that sells the Valet 554R. Thanks in advance, I have been looking for help with this unit but it seems all my posts go with no replys. I'm just trying to get it done the right way. Erick

here's the wiring diagram:
12volts red + ignition harness
Starter yellow + ignition harness
Ignition pink + ignition harness
Accessory orange + ignition harness
Power Lock lt. blue + drivers kick panel
Power Unlock black + drivers kick panel
Parking Lights+ brown headlight switch
Notes: Also found low in the drivers kick panel.
Door Trigger -
Notes: Use lt. GREEN/ black for the drivers door and lt. blue for the passengers front door. For the 2 door models, use both wires and diode isolate each. For the 4 door models, see directfax document #1075.
Dome Supervision white - underdash light
Trunk/Hatch Pin BLACK/ orange - low in the drivers kick
Notes: Only available on models with an ajar indicator in the instrument cluster.
Trunk/Hatch Release brown + release switch
Tachometer white or pur/wht ac ECM
Notes: The ECM is behind and above glovebox on passengers side.
Brake Wire white + brake light switch
Horn Trigger black - steering column

I don't have access to the defogger wiring info for your vehicle, but I can help a bit with that. GM defogger switches and I think most others use a momentary pulse to activate a timer which runs for a certain length of time; I'm not sure of the exact time.
I'm not aware of any place other than a repair manual where you could get the defogger wiring schematic. What I would suggest there is accessing the wiring to the defogger switch and testing the wiring. If you have a wire that shows 12V constantly when the defogger is turned on, the defogger timer is probably built into the switch. If a wire pulses 12v or ground when the switch is pushed, the timer is external to the switch and you will need to find the defogger power wire somewhere else.
I would suggest using a relay to send 12v to the defogger wire whenever the accessory wire is powered up. Wire the relay as follows: 85 and 87 - 12v heavy gauge accessory output from relay bank, 86 - chassis ground(you may want to wire a toggle switch in here so that you can deactivate the defogger output in summer for example), 30 - positive defogger wire.
If you have any more questions, feel free to ask. I sympathize with you about how they advertise a feature without giving info on how to make it work. I work at a DEI dealer and we sell the new Rattler 369D remote starts with a dedicated defogger output, and there's really no info on how to work that either.

I only work with the Python pieces, so I'm not sure which model the 554R is comparable to. I thought only the newer 56x series had the turbo timer and rear defogger options, but I could be wrong. I believe the 554R is still based on the old designs.
I don't know of any wiring database that list rear defogger info. You need to test how the factory switch works or get a factory wiring guide. The output from the remote start triggers about 10 seconds after the vehicle is remote started. It can either be programmed to a latched output (stays on) or for a momentary pulse. If latched, it stays on for 5 minutes and then shuts down. If momentary, it will send the pulse again after 5 minutes to shut off the defogger.
Turbo timer just requires you to hit two buttons (aux and *) before you exit the vehicles. It will then run for the programmed time (1, 3, 5 or 10 minutes) and then shut off.
