I have a remote starter that does not have two ingnition output wires ,if the car starts & runs why do you need both wires ????? Thanks LB

I have a remote start alarm system i would like to install for just the starter & Locks The box it came in says it is Apache, The install book says Vam vehicle security ,everything works but when i step on the brake the lights blink even when started with the key . there may be a wire i need to ground but have not found it yet any ideas ???? Thanks Lloyd
