I am gettting ready to install a remote in a 2003 Focus. The Pats bypass is a Ford part number1S4Z-19G365-AB. Car start securilink interface kit2. It came with no instructions. It has the loop to go around the ingnition switch, and three other wires coming out of the control box. One black, red white. I was told red to 12 volt when starter is energized, black to ground and white not used. When he told me what to do he didn't sound to convinsing. The unit use the two factory keys to program the unit. Insert the first key, turn to run wait for security light out, Insect second key to run, security light out. Remove the key and remote start the car. Does this sound right????

The RED / white wire goes to a negative output of the remote start ,which sends a signal to the interface before ingaging . You must teach the interface the proper code, that is why you must use both keys to program it. I know it does not sound convincing............

Hi toyvet.Yes the info you were givin is correct, when cycleing the keys you must do this all within 10 sec. If after cycleing the 2nd key and pushing the button on the remote start the security light starts flashing rapidiy, push brake to cancell and start procedure over Also make sure to hook up the red to 12v and the black to the ground out when running on remote start.  Good luck K>S>

"I was told red to 12 volt when starter is energized, black to ground"

Red to 12 volts constant
Black to the negative out when running, active out, ignition 3 (-) out, etc.
White not used.

Do NOT connect the black wire to ground as that would keep the bypass on all the time and your car wouldn't start even with the key.

Your procedure is correct take the first key and turn the ignition on, the light will come on solid for a few seconds and then go out, remove the key and put the second key on, wait for the light to go out, remove the key and hit the remote start button on the remote. If the light comes on and stays solid, your good to go. If it blinks hit the brake and try again. As mentioned you must do the process fairly quick. Also it isn't just 2 keys you must do it for ALL the keys of the vehicle. The light you are watching is the one above the radio by the hazards switch. 1S4Z is the correct bypass so you should be good to go!

You only need the Red and the black on the PIK. Red to 12volts+, black to a negative ignition.

Those are "designed" to be used with the Ford/Code Alarm remote starts. They have a port on the back of the unit that you would plug the clip with the RED / BLACK/ white wires into. The white wire connects to a relay they give you, but if you aren't using the Ford R/S, you don't need the white wire.
