I can tell you this, I know this truck, I had one heck of an experiance hooking up my Remote start. and it freaking turned out to be a blown fuse. Now what white wires in a orange loom are you talking about? your passlock will be a yellow a ORANGE / black and a black wire that come from the key cylinder, you will need to connect the 555l to the yellow and the ORANGE / black wires, The yellow wire is the one that you cut and the ORANGE / black is the wire you tap into.

The black wire from the 555L taps into the ORANGE / black wire of the passlock, after you cut the yellow wire of the passlock connect the yellow wire of the 555L to the key side of the yellow passlock wire and connect the BLACK / YELLOW to the other cut yellow wire which will go to the BCM side. Hope this helps

Pull off the steering shroud and look at the wires coming off of the ignition cylinder itself. There is usually or a yellow, ORANGE / black OR black, tan, l. green, RED / white, and white. You obviously would want the yellow and ORANGE / black. These wires will be running down the steering column and are pretty thin. Where are you looking for them? And are you saying there are NO thin ORANGE / black and yellow wires running down the steering column?

I would be careful with those 2 white wires in the orange sheathing. On older GM vehicles those wires would have been the VATS wires but you would have a resistor on the shaft of the key. Well I guess Corvette still uses it so its not just on old GM cars, but your truck has Passlock II so it should be just as SuperTom said: Yellow and ORANGE / Black. I have never seen it, but I have heard that the wires can be Black, Black, and BLACK/ White in a three wire ribbon. The outer black is the same as the yellow, and the middle black wire is like the ORANGE / Black.
Like I said be careful of wires you are not familiar with: cutting or probing could cause damage to your vehicle.

If you take the cover off the steering column you will see a little 3 wire plug on the top side of the cylinder where the key goes in. That is the passlock system. What color are those wire? I have two white wires in a orange sleeve on my 2001 2500 HD but they are not the passlock

Those two wires in the orange tubing go to the button on the end of the directional lever. I think they control 4WD or something like that.. It does look like the old VATS setup.
The yellow (wire that gets cut), BLACK/ orange (ground) and RED / white (not used) passlock wires are in the same harness as the ignition wires.
