Ok so I guess I will ask this again since I need to know now. I asked a little while back and only got one response.
For a 2002 Ranger install, will the be any issues when using a PKU-F2 if there is a key in the ignition at the same time as a remote start attemt. If there is, then I plan on using a relay to interrupt the (-) out when running wire that goes to the bypass module. If not then I guess there is no reason to bother.
Conversely, lets say I did use a keysense shut off feature, there would be a gap created by putting the key in the cylinder since the bypass would shut off immediately, yet the key would not be close enough to the cylinder to be seen by the computer until it is fully inserted. Would that gap cause an issue, or does the computer only look for a key before the car is started, and possibly a short time after? Or does it monitor the key the entire time?
I assume there is no risk since the unit would likely be designed with a keysense shutoff wire if it needed one, but then again, why do all of the universal bypasses now have them.

Well generally there are no issues if the car sees a key after the fact its already running by remote start, there may be an issue here or there if the customer sticks the key in the car then sits with the remote start still running for several minutes. Its safe to tell the customer stick the key in turn the ignition on and step on the brake.
Most transponder based keys will not start if it sees a universal interface and another key in the ignition..and will probably flag the theft light, and may cause you to have to wait up to 10 minutes for it to reset. the pku f2 is only an encrypted pelet , which is found in the ford keyblanks. At the same time other than people who leave their keys in their car all the time this should not even be an issue.
