My son's '88 Towncar is having alarm problems and has stranded him once (he's 17). The car is not worth putting money into (180+k miles). In fact, you would have to pay someone to take it. It's pretty much safe. But it gets him from point A to B safely.
To solve his problem, We want to bypass the factory Alarm System altogether.
Is there an easy way to do this?
My wiring info on system doesn’t show the there is a factory alarm but there could be.
You can bypass the starter kill if it has one by getting some 12 or 10 gage wire.
Start at the ignition harness in the steering column.
Cut the WHITE/ pink wire about 3inchs from the key cylinder solder the wire to it and run the wire thru the firewall.
(if you cant find a rubber seal to poke thru you may need to drill about a 1/4" hole to run the wire thru)
run the wire to the starter solenoid disconnect the factory wire ( should be WHITE/ pink but if not it is the small wire out of the 3 that are there I believe )
hope this helps.

Actually, I doubt it is factory, look under the dash for the alarm module and pull the fuse out(probably the one on the red wire, this depends on the brand of alarm). Then find the starter kill relay and just hook the starter wire back together. I personally would not re-run the starter wire to the soleinoid.
