Hello..

Our 98 accord lx power door locks just stopped working today.  The car has an aftermarket alarm/keyless installed (pro intall 5 years ago), and I'm thinking it may be the problem.

The alarm functions normally, but the power locks do not work.  (either with the alarm/keyless or the switches on the doors).  The fuse is OK.  (tried known good fuse)

How should the lock/unlock wires from the alarm be tied the the factory harness?  They are currently tied into the grey 2 pin connector at the drivers fuse area (GREEN/ red and BLACK/ white car wires).  The wires run into the car loom, but the connector is not attached to anything.  Nor does there appear to be any other connector that it could be connected to.  Am I right in assuming that it should still be connected, with the keyless wires spliced into the factory wires??

The alarm/keyless is an internet 200 if it matters.

Any help is appreciated.  The wife is grumbling...

first thing you can try is to unhook the wires tied into your lock system in some cases if there is a problem with your alarm they could be trigering the locks all the time and for sure they would not work.

I'll try that now.

But another problem is where to hook the factory connector that the alarm lock wires are connected to back up to.  I cannot find where is was unpluged from.

it was not connected to anything, that plug is usually in that location not connected to anything, if you can find the alarm brain you can probally unplug the lock harness if it has one.

I disconnected the lock harness from the alarm, and no change.

I guess the problem is with the car itself.  I'll go poking around with the multimeter in the morning...

I did some more digging on yahoo, and I've fixed the problem.  Turns out the alarm was not related.

Neither power lock switch worked, and as it turns out the passenger windows could not be controlled from the drivers master panel either.

The problem was that the multiplex controller went into shutdown mode.  I used the following reboot procedure that I found online, and everything is working...

"Ok, first take and put the intermittant wiper switch on the lowest setting(what would be the longest wiper delay setting). Then either pull the back up fuse (7.5) from the under hood fuse panel or to be sure you have the right fuse, disconnect the battery for 15 secounds. Then reconnect/insatll fuse and turn the key to the on position, turn off the wipers and now try all the power items. If this was the problem then they all should be ok.I know it sounds weird but it does happen and the reset does work..."
