Greetins,

I am hoping to install an Alarm/Kelyess Entry/Remote Start system to this otherwise factory car. It has no factory alarm, or keyless. However it does have some fancy tricks of it's own, that I'd rather not break. Such as the drivers door single / double pulse operation, and the auto dimming dome.

My key does not have a visible chip, but I fear the Oversized end may contain some sort of "passlock" type thing.

If any anybody has any tips for the car, I'd be muchus thankfull.

I installed the same system successfully in my Plymoth Voyager, from the help on this site.

Well - I noticed the sticker on the window of my Galant, that says it does have the immobilizer system.

Is this going to be a problem?, if so how do I solve it?

Thanks again.

There is only one bypass module out on the market right now for the Galant and it's a KEY required bypass module., meaning that you need another key with a chip in it to bypass the anti theft unit of the car while remote starting. They go for about $ 25 - $ 40 on the internet.

I've tried searching for said device, with no luck. Would you happen to have a link to someplace that sells said device?

I noticed my Ignition switch has a copper coil wrapped around it, could I not just chop off the trasponder part of the key, and sticky it to the steering colum near the coil, then I could just use normal copied keys??? anybody try that?

You can do this, but it defeats the purpose of having an anti theft device in the car incase someone tries and steals the car .Not a common practice among installers to do this, but it has been done. The only problem with this is if the pellet ever falls off and you only have a copied key, your F*@ked. The car won't run or start properly without the pellet by the transponder module.

Well, I do have 2 real keys, I could make a new coil antenna, with the vallet key inside, and connect this to the input on the OEM reciever, all inside the steering colum.

I'd preferfer to use the Pre -fab unit, But I still cant find a link to the device.

  I did find this though - https://www.ti.com/tiris/docs/news/news_releases/90s/rel06-01-99.shtml

DEI makes a 555U which I think Jeff is talking about. Most of your Viper or Python dealers should have this in stock $30-$55 would be fair for this piece

What a trip ---

When I had my new key made, I didn't take my valet key with me, I've been trying to use it with my bypass system. I thought I somehow toasted the key -as it simply would not work in my bypass coil, then I tried it in the key cylinder - and it would'nt work there either !!!

So back to the dealer - who infomed me that :

Each key has a preset distinct code - The Key is not "programmed" .... The car is. When They program a car for a new key - the wipe out the codes of existing "Authorised" keys. I only brought my Primary key with me - the first time, so it and the new key where added to the empty authorised key list.

He went ahead and reprogrammed it with all the keys for free --- posted_image

Time to wrap this puppy up.
