Hi,

This is my first time posting anything on this site, i am a new member. I am no stranger to electronics and car alarms and i am going to install an alarm system and a remote start system on my 99 sonoma. My question is wiring the remote start to the truck. I have been told that newer GM vehicles have a secondary ignition wire that i need to add a relay to in order for the remote start to work, as well as a secondary accesory wire i need to wire a relay to also. what colors are the two secondary wires and what purpose do they serve?

thank you so much, for that. i finally had a chance to install my alarm and remote start and everything worked right the first time.

my question still remains about the secondary accessory though. Is there one and if there is what is its purpose?
