I'm planning on installing an AstroStart 4204 in a 2000 GrandPrix GTP and have a couple of questions. I have pulled all of the specs on the vehicle already and was wondering if anybody with experience with this vehicle could possible give me more in-depth information such as:Plug Colors &  What Pin # in the Plug for such wires as the Dis-Arm wire, Tach, Lock, Unlock, Horn, Park Lights,  etc. as well as any other information on problems this vehicle might give me.

Also, is bypassing the PassKey III the same as bypassing the Passlock II? I've done the Passlock II a couple of times and don't have a problem with them, but the Grand Prix has the PassKey III from what I understand. I have purchased AstroStarts PassKey III module, but the directions in the package are very poor. If anyone has any information it would be greatly Apreciated.

Thanks in advance!

just follow the diagram or vehicle specs you have. if youre to run into some wires, most likely others will run into it, too; search for some old threads.

search for "passkey III" or "passlock III"

passlock 2 and passlock 3 are different man. With your Grand Prix, your gonna need to have an extra key bc its gonna set in a box(Passlock 3 immobilizer) under your dash somewhere. Also, some of your wires have to be diode isolated on that car i.e. the door trigger and trunk trigger.

GPGTP00, The AstroStart Module that I have purchased is for the PassKey III, II, or I. The module can be set for voltage or resistance via setting dip-switches... so I shouldn't need an extra key right??? I guess I'm just assuming that this module is going to work for this Grand Prix. I don't know if I'm supposed to measure for the resistance of the key like you do for Passkey II or if I'm supposed to measure for voltage... I guess my question is, what is the procedure for bypassing PassKey III with a module that has the dip-switches that you set. Is there a better way to bypass this? I'm up for any ideas.

Also, Can anyone send me a diagram or picture of how to diode isolate the door wires? Am I just adding a diode between the R/S and the dk blue wire?
