I have intalled the Prestige APS-995A in a '99 F-150 with the PATS system.  All features of the alarm work fine except the infamous remote start.  Also being used is the AS-TBM transponder bypass module which I cannot seem to program.  I have tried more times than I would like to count with positioning of the transponder unit.  If the key is in the ignition when using the remote start, the truck will start and stay running.  I have followed the steps in the instructions that accompany the Transponder bypass module (which are useless) and even tried to program it using 2 original PATS keys like other Ford vehicles require with no luck. This truck does not have factory keyless entry and the theft light on the dash continues to flash when remote start is attemped.  With that happening and the fact that it will start with the key in the igniton tells me that the Transponder is not accepting the programming.  If anyone has any ideas, please let me know.

Are you using a keyless or a keyed bypass unit. If you are using one of those generic universal bypass modules that uses the key in a sleeve inside the module.... they are crap !! You need to be able to wrap the loop that comes out of the module tight around the key cylinder.

I am using the keyless type from Audiovox (AS-TBM)  It consists of a "Transponder Capsule" at the end of about 18" of wire and attachted to a signal converter of some kind which is attached to the alam.  I will wrap the 18" of wire tightly around the igniton cylinder and see what happens.

Thanks

Well after a long battle with the tweasers,  I found out what was inside the "Transponder Capsule."  There is an actual transponder chip incased in glass with wire wrapped around it.  Needles to say, I will be ordering a new Transponder module on Monday.  I am thinking that I had a bad module anyway because with this piece being made of glass, it sure was flexable.

Thanks
