Hi I have just installed my car alarm and it has a remote start function and also uses the "Normally Closed Starter Kill Relay" system. The remote start works ok but when i enable the alarm to start normally with the key the started motor seems to be lacking power. I get a repetive clicking noise and sometimes it manages to just turn over. Does anyone have any ideas?

must be a chevy!!  what kind of car????  year????  I'm guessing that when you cut the factor starter wire to install the starter-kill relay, the socket you're using has significantly smaller wires than you need.  You can get "HD" sockets for Chevy's and such that have 12 ga. leads (same size as factory) which helps a LOT....

just as a test, take a short length of larger gauge wire and temporarily bypass the socket with it...if the car starts better, then you know for sure you've got a voltage/current drop scenario across the relay...

Knowing what kind of car could help, including year. It sounds like your starter is going bad as opposed to the starter kill. Is the clicking from under the dash or under the hood?
