i am putting a remote start/keyless entry in a 1999 caravan. i was looking at the the single wire lock/unlock diagram and in one of the diagrams it shows using relays and in the diagram on this website it just shows the resistors hooked right into the alarm output. i was just wondering if i needed relays or not. i also was curious as to how far off in resistor value i could be if any, or if i have to get those size resistors exactly.

thanks

Yes you need relays, and try to stay WITHIN 10% on the resistors. Hope this helps.

You need to use relays and resistors for that system, a 1% tolerance should be used for resistor values. Do u have those values?

there is an easier way.go direct to the fuse block which has power lock relays (3).lock/driver unlock& all unlock.use pin no 86 on the two top relays(lock & unlock).remove the bottom relay and install a 30 amp fuse.

Just use the relays and resistors; the way desh said works intermittenly, if you want it to go and not come back in 3 months or 3 days. 250 ohm resistor for lock and 1500 ohm resistor for unlock.

Use a 249 ohm and a 1.5 K ohm resistors, I know radio shack has those.
