1) The factory alarm disarms with unlock. Unless you are specifically having problems with it then don't worry about it.
2) This is easy, don't turn the key to start, only go to run. Or hook up your starter kill relay.

1) the problem is the factory alarm which turns on when the doors are locked is triggered when i try to remotely start the car. 2) i am not turning the key to the start position, i belive it grinds when it reaches the acc. position for just 1/2 a second. thanks again....pete m

1) You need to hook a ground when running wire up to the keysense wire (usually blue/black) to disarm the alarm during remote start. The wire is in a 2 pin plug going to the key cylinder. Wire will test as ground when key is in cylinder
2) There is a tech note that says you must five wire the ignition wire. Connect the 1st ignition output from the remote start to the second ignition in the car (thick blue/red). For the 1st ignition wire (BLACK/ orange), wire a relay as follows:
87: Ignition 2 output of remote start
86: Jump a small wire from 87 to 86
85: Ground
Cut the BLACK/ orange 1st ignition wire
87a: key side of cars BLACK/ orange ignition wire
30: other side of BLACK/ orange wire

well i tried running the FASD (factory alarm shut down ) wire to the wire that tested neg. in the ign. switch with a key in it. (by the way it is yellow in my car), it dident work....do i need to run the FASD wire to some wire in the door? according to charts i have a blue/red which is called disarm defeat going into the door...is this what disarms the factory alarm? the chart also says the factory alarm disarms with door unlock which is ,unlock motor blue. i dont have a blue wire going into the door.i belive the FASD sends a single neg. pulse when you hit the start button. anyone with celica experience please chime in with advice. i bought the dei relay to isolate the ignition switch but dident have time to try and install today , can anyone verify if the relay info is correct? thanks alot....pete m

I said "ground when running", not "factory alarm disarm". It is sometimes called a "Negative 3rd ignition output". It will show ground the whole time the car is remote started, not just a pulse when you remote start.
Don't trust my 5+ years experience installing remote starts? I've only done at least 5 of the Celicas that require the relay to isolate the igniton wire from the ignition switch during remote start.

the remote module does have another wire coming from it they call VATS( security bypass output) which does hold a ground output the entire time the remote starter is activated. i will try it next to the keysense wire. that would be cool / easier to install if it works. the relay info looks good to me.....thanks for your help jworm pete m

hello...well...attaching the VATS (constant neg. when remotely starting) wire to the keysense wire took care of the the factory alarm going off when remotely starting the car.....however there is one issue.....when the remote turns the car off after the run time ( 10-15 minutes) the doors unlock.....it is ok for now but i would like it to turn off and leave the doors locked just in case it is accidentaly activated. is there a wire in the drivers kick i could tap into to shut down the factory alarm? this remote does have a wire that sends a single neg. pulse before remote startup. the ignition relay info. was right on.....i got the relay (made bt DEI) from circuit city 9.99 and it included a nice plug in harness....it easily solved the problem thanks again....pete m
