I want to do a window module. What would be better: a smartwindows 4, or a 530T? I was gonna go with that Peripheral "GM Doorlock, Power Window and Security Interface." The alarm going in is an RSX3.5. I guess I would wire from the channel out of the RSX3, to the windows module, to the databus which would then send the signal to open/close the windows....I guess. I am unexperienced with this type of vehicle. I was reading up on other forums as well. I don't dare mess with the sunroof, and I've read about people's horror stories trying to install a windows module in their vehicle-Either to control the sunroof or the windows or both. I was just wondering if it is worth it to buy this: 
'Cause it was hard putting in a smartwindows in my Integra. Where it says "Note: Some vehicles may require an additional interface to control drivers power window." That's where the DEI window module comes in. The smartwindows 4 is for the G4 and G5 Clifford alarms though. 530T

I have never used the smartwindows module, the peripheral mudule I don't think it controls windows, we installed one of the peripherals because we were out of the 456g for an avalanche and I did not see anything about windows, I would just use the 530t, you need one per two windows, it's not that hard to install. one tip I will give for it is make sure is has a very good power source and don't leave tons of extra wire.

Sorry, I'm a bit confused by your post title and your message. Is this going into a GM or an import ?? If it's going into a 2002 GMC, we have a great module that will roll up or down the windows via the databus wire and only requires 7 wires to be hooked up. Doesn't even need to go into the doors or the window wires at all !! Take about 20 minutes to install and program.

It's goin' into a 2002 Z71 Tahoe. What module do you have Jeff? I was thinking about the peripheralelectronics one above. But I need a transponder bypass that I can depend on and not worry about when or if the power goes out and it resets(that's what I've heard from some transponder bypass modules). I like the databus ones, for the windows because running wires to the door panels sucks.

Sorry, you missed it by one year on the window databus modules. It's only available for 2003 + Tahoe's. Your going to have to go straight to the window wires for this one. As far as the modules for the transponder's are concerned, the modules that we have retains the code of the Passlock II even if the battery dies or there's no ground on the module. There are databus Passlock II bypass modules that has the window up option, but the window down will have to be done with a window module to the window wires. Email me for more information.
