I'm going to try to install my first remote start / car alarm tomorrow and I have a few questions.  I read through the instructions and everythig seemed straight forward until I came across the wiring of the aux output harness.  this ahrness is used to control the factory alarm.  the first wire is a pulsed ground output before start and is used to disarm the factory alarm.   Up until reading this I assumed that I would need to uninstall the factory anti-theft system.  Can someone please explain what I need to do with respect to the factory alarm.   Thanks for the help.

Does the factory alarm/Keyless entry have Trunk release on the factory remote?

If it does all your wiring are in the passengers kick panel ,exept for the immobilizer wiring.

No it doesn't.  It just has lock, unlock and panic.

I've been thinking about the alarm for a bit now and my understanding is simply that the alarm is controlled through the power locks.  If the car is locked or unlocked with the ignition off the alarm will arm or disarm.  Is this correct or am I way off.

No worries.  It's actually an Expedition but I'm assuming that makes no difference.  No blinking light.  Thanks for the help.
