I have a 1993 Volkswagon Jetta, which comes with a stock alarm. I’m wondering if I could keep the stock alarm and maybe add some stuff to it (not sure if this is even possible), or if I should put a whole new one into it? If I put a new alarm into it could I use all the door triggers and the siren without having to do any rewiring? I don’t know a lot about alarms and don’t quite understand how door triggers work or pretty much anything else. I’m not sure what sort of door trigger my car uses, does anyone know? I don’t know what sort of stuff I need to research b/c I don’t know much about how my car is already wired with its stock alarm. It appears that the alarm used a stitch that when the door is closed it is pushed in and when the door opens it pops open, what kind of trigger is this?

I would just piggyback & retain all the functions of the OEM system with the addition of an aftermarket impact or radar sensor alarm with paging capabilities.

When you say piggyback do you mean you can connect 2 alarms together?

I have a 1993 Jetta that i want to install an aftermarket alarm into but it has a stock alarm that I am not sure how to disable. Does anyone know how to do this? If i just unplug the alarm module the car will not start. What need to be done to disable the stock alarm with out killing my car as well I have no idea what most of the wires going to the stock alarm are for anyone have some thing that will tell me what they are? I already have the stuff that this site has.

According to this site the alarm will disarm by unlocking the doors so make sure your aftermarket alarm operates the door locks and you should be ok. I havent ever done a Jetta

How do you make a 1993 Jetta have keyless entry with an aftermarket alarm? It has a stock alarm on it that disables and arms when the doors are unlocked and locks. I figure i can just leave the stock alarm in and add the aftermarket knowing the factory alarm will either disarm, when i use the keyless entry or go off, when someone breaks in. Please let me know how this can be done? Do you need a special part for keyless entry to work?
Im thinking it has something to do with this: https://www.the12volt.com/doorlocks/page3.asp#vac Thanks

Well I installed my first alarm into my 1993 VW jetta and everything went good except the car will not Lock with keyless entry. The car will unlock with keyless entry but it will not lock. What did I do wrong? I used the green wire that came from the vacuum pump and goes to the lock unlock switch (to all the locks at all the doors). Here is how i wired the keyless entry... Is there something wrong with this diagram? This came from the install manule for my ungo 2004 alarm.

did you use 2 relays? you need one for lock and one for unlock. see how the wiring diagram above lists two 87a and two 30 terminals for relays, that might mean you need 2. i dont know this for sure, just a guess tho

Where does it list 2? The second half of that picture where it says Door lock harness is just saying what each wire is when it comes out of the alarm. Not meant to be part of the same picture. The alarm has one relay build into it i thought this took the place of another one... maby not. Every other diagram i have seen does say to use 2 relays but i thought since this was part of my install manual it would be right. Here are some more wiring diagrams i have seen for my car should i change my wiring to match one of these instead of the first one (in the first post)? https://bulldogsecurity.com/New%20Wires/New%20Wires/Wires/images/benzvaclocks.htmhttps://www.the12volt.com/doorlocks/page3.asp#vac

Im trying to get my ungo 2004 alarm to work in my 1993 jetta but it is conflicting with my stock alarm. I need a way so that when my ungo2004 alarm is armed the stock alarm also arms. It seems that just having the ungo2004 alarm lock the doors with the keyless entry will not arm the stock alarm. The key needs to be used to get it to arm. How can i hook the ungo2004 up so when i arm it the stock alarm will also arm,? Now ,i dont know for sure if the keyless entry will arm the stock alarm or not because it does not function properly. Can someone give me an idea on how to wire the keyless entry up? the ungo 2004 has an internal relay build in for the keyless but i think i still may need to use a couple more relays.
If i get the keyless entry working properly will they arm eachother?

Heres how i hooked the keyless up at first. https://images.cardomain.com/member_images/5/web/185000-185999/185158_107_full.gifI used the green wire as the wire that goes from the vacuum to the unlock/lock switch. Yes what you said about the wires is right, heres what i got from some other sources. lock wire - Red Yellow or Grey Unlock wire - RED / Black or Green Im thinking that it only unlocks b/c i hooked it up to the green wire and not both the green and grey. How could i hook it up to both wires? how would i add a second relay to what i already have in the diagram above to get both the lock an unlock wires in the system? Also how can i find out if my alarm is giving a positive pulse or a negative pulse? My car uses a positive pulse but im not sure what kind of pulse the alarm would be puting out.
