I just installed a remote start into my 97 grand prix, and am having problems with the door locks. They lock and unlock but after a couple of seconds, close. Even when I am driving the seem to be activating. Any ideas would be helpfull. I do have the factory alarm set to only arm with the factory remote or the lock button.
thanks,
ron

Maybe you should try to reset the remote start. Are you sure all the wires are tightly secure. Is it getting proper ground. I don't recall anything special with the door locks on those vehicles.

possibly go through your optional settings and turn off child lock, and ignition control, and such. See if that stops it.

I tried changing the settings on both the factory and the aftermarket alarm and it still does it. The alarm is a prestige aps750 and everything works fine on it. I installed trunk pop, window mod., and a dei pager to it, but do not think any of these would do anything to the doors.
Ohmz, I did solder all my connections, so I don't think it could be that, but will check just in case. I don't think it is ground because the alarm does not reset as if it were a bad ground.
One extra thing, if I arm the alarm it unlocks the doors and I have to be quick to open or else it locks the doors again. If I also try to open the door with the key it locks it automatically.
thanks for the help,
ron

hmmm That's funny. I installed 2 APS 750s on 2 different year Honda accords and I had very similar problems. I ended up changing the brains and never had a problem. Strange!

This may seem very wierd but, did you install the small resistor/ground kit supplied in the APS 750 kit on the tach wire. These kits had a problem where they would pick up stray signals on the tach line that would cause the alarm to arm/disarm, lock/unlock while driving. It drove me around the bend before learning this. If you install the kit it may fix the problem. It needs to be installed close to the main module.
