Hi, I bought a python 880xp alarm system (same as vipers 790vx). Installation went great thanks to the help from this site:).

My question is for the lcd pager remote. Im not sure if its suppost to do this or not but i keep getting the "Receive Indicator" blinking on the pager about every 5secs. The only thing it says in the book about this is "the receive icon will be displayed while the remote control is transmitting a command to the vehicle"
Is this suppost to do this, if so why and what does it mean? Any suggestion about if this feature should be on or not would be helpful aswell

From the RS3 owners manual.(same for all DEI transponder alarms)programmable remote control features

To enter programming mode
Press and hold all four remote control buttons simultaneously until
one long beep is heard. Programming Mode has now been entered.

Page Mode On/Off
After entering Programming Mode, press " * " within fiveseconds to toggle on and off. When the Page Mode is on, theremote control will wake up periodically to check for messagesfrom the security module. It will also wake up when any buttonis pushed. When Page Mode is off, the remote control "sleeps"until a button is pushed, extending the life of the battery.

It's recieving "updates" from the car/alarm brain. Does what it says in the manual...

Ive read that but i didnt think that was what the flashing icon ment. Thanks

Do you think i should keep this on or off. If i turn it off will my remote page me if some one trys to break into my car or warm me. Im just wonder if this is what the future does or does it just check the states of the car and sees if every thing is ok every 5secs.
