We had a base model (no remote start)Carbine system installed on my daughters car when we purchased it. She has not been using it for the last several years due to a broken remote. Lately, the door locks will "flutter" while driving. I as wondring if the alarm system could be the problem?
Is there an easy way to totally disarm this system or the auto door locking function, since it is no longer even used ?
Any help would be most appreciated..... Thanks !!

You can just unplugg the unit from under the dash. The Carbine module is a black box with " CARBINE " embossed on the top side of it and ther ewill be at least 2 if not 3 wiring harnesses coming from it. Unplug all the wiring harnesses from this unit and you should be set.

Oh, BTW.... if the car doesn't start after you unplug the Carbine unit from the car, that means that you have a starter disable relay installed. This is easy to fix...... you need to find the starter wire of the car and reconnect the wire at the relay where it was cut. It will be a BLACK/ WHITE wire that is cut in half going to a relay. reconnect this wire and your set.

The problem may just be a loose ignition wire. Alarms with a feature called Ignition controlled door locks sense the ignition on and locks the doors .if wire is loose doors will lock and unlock as you drive down the road, but since your transmitters are shot do what jeff said to eliminate future problems
