Hello,

I was looking for a very modular and upgradeable car alarm system and after a lot of research, I found the clifford avantguard 5 most suitable to my requirements.

I called a few of the DEI dealers and they informed me that I cannot buy the alarm from them and hook it up myself. I felt that this was another example of propreitary monopoly so I looked around on the net to find a seller who did not require installation. I expect to have a unit delivered to me in a few days and I plan to hook it up myself.

Now that I have shelled out cash for this alarm, it ocurred to me that that it's possible that Clifford ships the unit without the installation manual so that you are forced to go to the dealer to have it installed. I will know when I get my unit, but I just wanted to ask, does anyone here know if the installation manual or wiring diagram is shipped in the box with the unit?

Does anyone have a wiring diagram for the avantguard 5 just in case? Thanks in advance. I know I should have factored this into my research but it's too late now.

I just found out that the installation manual comes in the box, so it's not so bad after all! posted_image
