I know that this question has been asked lots of times. I need Help. I read most of the Topics on Horn Honks but none seems to work. I have a Phoenix Digital PD-144 Alarm thats Currenly Installed on a 1993 Ford Thunderbird. How can i Remove the Siren and make it honk, (1 honk = Arm, 2 honks = Disarm). Everyone in my street has the same siren so i want something different. Can u help me.
So do you want to replace your siren with your horn, or just make your horn chirp when you arm and disarm? I am not familiar with the model of alarm that you have, If you alarm does not have a separate output for the horn, you can use a relay to hook it up to the light flash output. this will make the horn chirp coresponding to the light flash. If you want to totally replace the siren with your horn, that will require a little bit more complicated method.

Yes, thats what i want to do... replace the siren with the horn. do u have a link where i can refer to.
Well there may be a explantion of this somewhere on the website, but I have not seen it if it is. This is my theory though, if you were to hook up the horn via a relay to the parking like output, not only will it chirp when the unit is arm and disarmed but normally the lights flash when the alarm is triggered. So since the parking light output also flashes when the system is tripped the horn will honk intermittently sounding like a factory alarm system. You may need a latching relay to make the horn sound long enough, and i am not sure if relays will last very long when they are turned on and off constantly for a long period of time, but definately look into that option. Read over the whole relay section on this site, it very clearly explains how relays work and how to use them in many different applications. If that is the effect you are going for, you can hook it up that way and disconnect the siren. The reason you generally can't use the siren output is because that output is usually a constant signal. The siren patterning all happens within the siren itself when it recieves constant power.
