Hi,  I have done alot of reading and still don't fully understand what the 456G is needed for when installing a remote start with keyless entry.  My plans are to install the DEI (or Viper) 554R and sounds like I need the 555L bypass module.  That part sounds easy.  What I want to know is there a way to get the lock/unlock to work without using the 456G?  I don't want to spend an extra $50 for this module if it gains me nothing as far as lock/unlock goes.  I don't however want to take my door panel off (because every door panel I have ever taken off rattles after re-installed) and if I need to do this to get the lock/unlock to work with the 554R then I will just buy the additional 456G module and get it over with.  Any suggestions are appreciated and also for my history I have put in a few astrostarts in older vehicles so  let me know if doing a 2003 with these 3 modules is much more complex.

Thanks

So the 555G or the GM D17 will take the place of BOTH the 555L and the 456G???  That sounds better if true.

yes thats right and the dl7 does it all  through the data wire so no cutting passlock wires like the 555l which can cause problems.

I did some google searching and can't find this DL7 or DI7 that you mention.  Do you have a site or a correct part number??  Thanks

GREAT!!  Thanks for the info.  Sounds like the GMDL-BP, GMDL-4 or the MultiDL will work for me.  If anyone knows a place to order one online let me know.  Couldn't find them online and I am not a dealer so can't order from bypasskit.com

Thanks again CK Auto.
