I have a 99 Jeep Grand Cherokee with a black key. I was told I need a 455J module for my valet remote start. How does this wire in to the databus connector under the dash? Can this wire just be soldered to the one in the connector or does it have to be cut? Any info would be appreciated.

you tap it into a wire in the ODB connector. it interprets the multiplex wiring for the locks and alarm.

Does anyone have a diagram on how to wire the parking light wire from my valet alarm to the yellow - wire on my headlamp switch. Supposedly I need a 1K resistor wired in. Any info would be appreciated.

my sheet shows you pulsing negative through a 240 ohm resistor.  Your valet alarm will likely have a positive park lamp output.  Simply use a relay to change to a negative pulse, and run the resistor in-line.

My valet alarm does have a negative pulse already, so do I just put the resistor where I tap into the factory wire. Does it matter which way the resistor flows current? The data sheet on this site says a 1k resistor. How do I know which one to use? Thanks for the reply.

I am installing a valet r/s-alarm in my 99 grand cherokee. For the parking light wire the diagram says I need a 1K resistor. Can I use one from radio shack? They list a 1/4, 1/2, or 1 watt resistor, which one do I need? Does it wire in where it tap into the factory wire? Any info would be appreciated. Thanks

There is supposed to be a tan with white tach wire at the pcm, but there is not. I found another wire that might be the right one. It shows 5v ac when it is running, but doesn't change under acceleration. Is it supposed to? Any info would help, thanks
