new to the forum guys but have been reading posts (looks good)

recently purchased 4400 avital and a DEI 555L bypass module and am looking for the 620L electro-luminescent blue led (anyone help find me one of these)

i have a fairly good knowledge of electrical / (some electronics) on automobiles

is this something i can wire myself or let a pro tackle or get you guys to help me get through it

i don't want problems down the road and don't mind paying someone to do it but as always you feel good when you accomplish something yourself.

any help or advice much appreciated

thanks in advance

Todd

First and foremost, you need to have the correct tools to do the install, mainly DMM and soldering iron. You will also need a diagram of the vehicles wiring to guide you through the isntall, so here you go. Just make sure you test all your wires before you connect any of the wires. Also read through the posts about GM vehicles and how to bypass the immobilizer, there are plenty. Also if this is your first alarm install you should definately read the install manual, believe it or not, dei makes their manuals pretty well and it will tell you how to test for the wires you need. You will also need at least one additional relay for the third ignition, and you will aslo need a couple of diodes. Here are a couple of posts you should read, one, two, three, for more info search for 555l, or Sierra, etc..

Geeque

thanks for the info on screw ups too

how about i wait til i get the diagram from the RM, and see what it looks like

i have a fluke 87 true RMS MM and can solder decent enough

i just don't want any problems , can you give me some sort of part # on the additional relay and i would also like to add the option of turning my seat heaters on (add. relay needed???)and 1 mor option ready to wire(fog lights, lights under truck, interior led 's)

and last but not least a price  i can expect to pay for this sys install.  sorry for all the trouble guys

2000 GMC Sierra

avital 4400 2 way installed

i had the unit professionally installed today

installer said he didn't know about the seat heaters and how they are actvated

said he would not be comfortable about messing with them. the button only has 2 wires from it and i figured one of them was the lighting (in the display) and the other wire is only a trigger (-)?? once for high , twice for low , third for off.

Does any one know for sure or hooked them up before ??

MUCHO GRACIOUS ???

my new r.s. works great , but at night when the truck r.s. starts the headlights and park lights come on. normally during the day the park lights flash when the r.s. is on . i don;t think its a programming error, iit sounds like the wrong wire is connected , please help.

Sounds like part of the truck from the factory...   Does your truck have automatic lighting for saftety at night.. Sound like that control is taking over when your remote start is activated in the dark..

Have a good one..   J
