Help. I'm trying to install a ProStart CT-3100 remote starter on a '92 Grand Prix. I have been searching for information on the second ignition wire and whether or not I need to connect it with a relay to the system. I have noticed that for the car alarms the second ignition wire is not needed. Is it needed for the remote starter?

Second thing is the wiring diagrams that I have found for the '92 Grand Prix indicate that the door lock/unlock is a positive output and the RS requires a negative output. What is the difference and how do I achieve the desired results?

If anybody has the answers or can possibly point me in the right direction it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance

2 relays or a polarity inverter can convert the (-) lock output from the remote start to a positive output.

You need to connect to the second ignition if the vehicle has one or the car won't start. How many ignition and accessory outputs does your system have? I'm not familiar with the brand you are using. If it only has 1 ign and 1 acc you can use a relay to add another output.

86 -   ignition (pink in the car) or constant (red or RED / white)
85 - ground when runing (also called (-) ignition output on some systems)
87 - fuse +12volts
30 - to second ignition wire in car.

I believe that the brand is made for Canadian Tire by AutoStart. The online technical help is directed to the Autostart website.  The ignition has 2 wires and one accessory wire on the RS.  Thanks for confirmation on the wiring.
