Have the Autopage 850LCD on my 01 Grand Cherokee Limited.  LOVE IT.  You can lock the keys on the keypad to keep from hitting buttons in your pocket, unlike the 750lcd.  Great range, user friendly to install, and 6 additional timed outputs for all types of sensors.  I currently have one closing my sunroof when the doors lock and another channel to turn on my headlights with the remote without setting off the alarm, and did not have to wire any relays or timers.  The chimes from the remote aren't near as loud and obnoxious as the 750 lcd.  Sorry for the yakking.  I love it.

Try going voltage regulated or timer control instead of the tach option.  Also, check your connections.  You might have the accessory (I think brown) and the ignition 1(I think yellow) backwards.

I been working with autopage alarms ;

for some reason, most of the cars I installed the remote starter always over cranks a little, I hate that!

If i were you I'd get the 544t from dei (hornet)

easier to understand and to program also.

The manual says that under the start feature II, one can adjust

the crank time from 0.6 to 4.0 second is that a fact ?

 Mine, it will not allow  me to to be programed on feature II.

There is a jumper inside the computer, do you know  if  re-seting it may change or clear the memory.

In the back of the installation manual, after the huge lists of programing features and remote start features, there is a small paragraph showing you how the reset the alarm back to factory settings.  Reset it and go directly to the remote start feature programming II, or ign on\off 3 time, 10 pushes of the valet, lock+unlock on the remote unitl 2 chirps is heard, then try remote starting it. (This is just off the top of my head, so check you install manual first). You can adjust it while in this programming option.  If it doesnt start, follow the instructions in the manual to adjust timer.  REMEMBER, pushing the LOCK button while in remote start programming will exit the programming mode.

Patience is a virtue.

I too am considering this alarm.  i have a 99 dodge dakota, and after being robbed 2x by my coworker i am tired of not having an alarm.  i was also considering an auxillary siren inside the cab as a painful deterent, anyone have a suggestion for that application?  also what kinda time frame am i looking at for a complete install?

Hey Socrates, out of town for the weekend.  So I guess you got the RS to start the car, and now it cranks too long?  If that is the case, than you used voltage regulated or timer control option.  If this is the case, you need to adjust the timer control.  This can get confusing.  If you want, email me at davedyer79@yahoo.com with your number and I will give you a call and try to walk you thru the programming.
