Can someone tell me the location and color of the tach wire on a 2004 Ford F150 5.4L?

The odd colored wire at the fuel injectors.

it is actually safer to go to a coil pack if it has them, same thing though odd color

depends on what brand the remote starter is.  if its DEI and its a current product (this years new ones) then you best go to an injector.  atleast, thats what the DEI techs told me.  they said something about the broad range of tachs they try to accomodate for, the new units (like avital 4200) have trouble with fords.  i did a taurus and still had better luck with the yellow/gray (or something similar) at the coil.

Use the tan wire at a injector.  Works perfectly.
