Hi,
I live in Eugene, Oregon and am looking for a good alarm installer.
I have a 2003 Mitsubishi Eclipse GT and am looking to have my Clifford Solaris G4 alarm installed. I have been viewing the posts in this forum as well as
sounddomain in regard to what makes a stealth install.
When I asked if they solder, they all said no, it would violate car warrantys or some garbage. When I asked if they would hide the brain/siren in abnormal places, they said it was useless and high up in the dash is the best spot. When I asked about running a 12+ volt power wire from the battery instead of tapping into an existing wire, they said its useless cause they can just disconnect the battery.
When I asked where they would hide my two wireless immobilizers, they said they wouldn't install them because they cause the brain to fail in alarms. When I asked if they would hook up my air raid siren and dual piezos, they said I only need one extra siren as more don't increase loudness and are just annoying.
None of the places in Eugene will solder and they said that t-taps are better and "safer" connections. I don't understand how everywhere online I have read PLUS in the alarm manual to "solder" all connections can be wrong. Do I just have crappy installers all around me?
I would attempt the alarm myself as I am a fairly good learner with cars, however I want the lifetime warranty.
I am willing to pay whatever I have to for a good install, its just finding the installer is the problem. I am willing to make a drive to certain extent.
If anyone can recccomend an installer in the northwest that could do the type of alarm listed above, please help.
Thanks, Adam
