This is driving me insane.. I'm not bad with alarms but this seems like a real challenge. I'm putting a Prestige APS995C(With two way remote) on a 2002 Galant. I'm using a 555U for the bypass...I'm confused on what goes to what as far as the wires... When I hook it up like I thought it was suppose to be hooked up the lights on the keypad would flash and it says "inhibit" on the bottom on the screen. Then I noticed that there is a factory starter kill on the car so that maybe why it's not starting. Is there a way to bypass the starter kill on the car. Or can I just shut the factory alarm off all together. The customer doesn't care for factory alarm, if it will interfer with the remote start. I'm really stumped on this problem. And help would be real appreciated.

Don't let the smoke out of your equiptment..it doesn't go back in.
-if the fact alarm is to be disarm everytime you disamr the prestige or rs, then it shouldnt show the error.
-the inhibitor is not from the factory alarm, its probably your prestige and you prolly install the starter wire on the wrong side of the relay. check ur connections again.

Can you tell me exactly how the bypass module is suppose to be hooked up? And how do I get pass the factory kill switch if it arms every time I arm the alarm? Is there a way to get pass the fac. kill switch?

Ok, when doing remote starts in that car, you need to interrupt the RED / blue wire at the stearing column to bypass the factory starter kill. Just use a relay and hook it up so that it is normally closed, meaning when at rest the blue/red wire is connected, and when the remote starter is engaged, it breaks the wire. Hook up the relay as follows:
85 - 12v fused source
86 - third ingition output on alarm (blue.back)
30 - RED / blue wire leading to igntion
87a - RED / blue wire leading to the ECM
87 - NOT USED
And also hook up your 555u to the car. Ohh one thing I would recommend is instead of using the orange connector on the alarm for the bypass, use also the third ignition output for it, much more reliable, had problems with the orange connector before. Hope this helps.
