Normally Open = Fail Secure = Find the brain and rip it out, it will not start.
Normally Closed = Fail Safe = Find the brain and rip it out, it will start.

i have a 99 Civic EX. i was tryin to figure out how to setup the door triggers. would i need to use diodes or just wire them up straight to the lead or does honda not have a common door trigger lead? thanks

The dorr trigger wire is light GREEN/ red (-). It can be found in the driver's kick panel or in a light green plug either behind or to the left of the radio. This plug is for the factory alarm.

is that for the left door or right door control to make it lock/unlock? thanks

The door triggers are not the lock wires. Here is a link to a diagram of your car.------------- Certified Security Specialist

sorry for sounding so novice, but what is a door trigger? i understand that with door unlock/lock is where you attach the wires from the alarm harness. what does the door trigger do? thanks

The door trigger wire(s) tell the alarm that a door is open so that it will activate the alarm when it is armed.

ok, i understand that aspext. this is the diagram from the box https://www.geocities.com/sl_600_v12/clifford1.jpg and https://www.geocities.com/sl_600_v12/clifford1.jpg and im trying to make it work with my 99 ex https://www.the12volt.com/installbay/detail.asp?info=alarm&year=1999&make=Honda&model=Civic&ID=17975&type=Alarm this is what i came up with so far: harness | honda ign yellow | BLACK/ white instant trigger blue | blue/black accessory RED / white | WHITE/ black 12v constant red | battery horn brown | siren under hood domelight dont care starter black | BLACK/ white light flash dont understand door(guess) blue | GREEN / WHITE

Not sure about that instant trigger wire ( maybe for the hood, trunk or any other (-) triggered spot on the car ). The only problem with the above list of colors is that ytour IGN wire is suppose to be BLACK / YELLOW at the ignition harness and your door trigger is supposed to be LIGHT GREEN/ RED at the OEM alarm plug to the right side of the steering column. The light flash wire on the harness is suppose to go to the RED / BLACK wire at the keyless entry module ( white in color, and located in the drivers kick panel ). THis will flash the lights when locked and unlocked or keep them on when remote started. ------------- Jeff

and for the door trigger, i connect the Green wire from the alarm to the Litght GREEN/ Red wire to the honda harness? and for the door lock/unlock i connect the GREEN / WHITE(-) to the Blue for the unlock and GREEN/ Orange(-) to the Green for unlock? thanks. i dont have to use diodes becuase the civic is internally relayed, correct me if im wrong.

The WHITE is suppose to go to the RED / BLACK at the at the keyless entry module. Yes, attach the GREEN from the alarm harness to the GREEN/ RED on the Honda. The door lock description you had is correct.

yeah, but dont you need a light flash input? by looking at the picture, where would the WHITE/ red wire go to? or would you cut the RED / black wire and connect one end to the white to RED / black and the other end to the WHITE/ red to the RED / black?

the light flash input should be connected to 12v constant for (+) and chassis for (-)

for a 99 honda civic ex, would you need to use relays or can you just hook up the wire from the alarm to the unlock/lock wire?

No need for relays. You can go straight from the unit to the OEM wires

wonderful, i have a question about an extra accessory output the RED / white output. https://www.the12volt.com/installbay/uploads/clifford2.jpg i wanted to set it up with the fuel pump wire. i wanted to find a way to wire it [probably with a relay] so when the car is armed, it kills the power to the fuel pump.

Use the ORANGE wire and wire it up like this relay: Use a constant 12 volts and fuse at 20 amps ------------- Jeff

i also bought a DEI battery backup siren. it has a red, black, violet, and green. from what i understood so far, the red goes to 12V, black to ground, green to (-) door trigger and violet dont use?

the violet for positive door trigger...you should have a neg door trigger...you dont need the violet wire ------------- Good Luck

updated: thanks everyone for your great help!! i installed everything this weekend fairly easy. took about 30 min. i read on this site somewhere that you can use the extra accessory output driven by a relay to add a kill switch to something on the car, ie fuel cut off, starter kill. i think the wires for it are YELLOW /GREEN and ground are the two. https://www.geocities.com/sl_600_v12/clifford2.jpg <--- scematics for my alarm. would i connect the orange wire to 85, 86=12v, 87a YELLOW /GREEN (from motorside and 30 to YELLOW /GREEN (to fuel pump) thanks
