We installed a Prestige APS-685. We used the 555G for the transponder however the car very often (not always) tries to start (lights flash) but doesn't. I assumeed the problem was the 555G and replaced it. It worked at first but then the customer called to say that it stopped. - May I add that ithas been quite cold here lately, though I'm not sure that that's related

double check your tach wire, on that car it should be violet/white at the coiil pack.

yes tempature will affect a weak tach signal, that would explain it working fine inside a heated garage

Wouldn't the car at least try to crank though?

I had problems last year using the 555g and it turned out that the trigger wire off of the remote start was not fast enough for the car to start, i was using a unit that had another trigger wire and i have never had this problem again
