Has anybody had any luck on removing the trim around the steering column of a 2002 chevy trailblazer.  I can see one screw on the key side but I cannot find any others and seem to have to force it off with alot of trouble putting it back together correctly

on alot of the newer GM's you have to remove bottom half first then the top half has small torq bit screws up inside

How do you get the bottom half off around the tilt lever?

Yeah I always put a rag (or something to prevent damage)on it and pull it out with a pliers. It comes out much easier than when just pulling on it with your hand. It is just a compression fit.

if you look at how it's connected you can gently open the spring flap that is holding the pin in the groove on the tilt adjuster. use a samll flat screwdriver, just be carefull and it will come out smooth as a baby's bottom

I'm curious why you need to get the shroud off anyway.
