Is it true?

If you in install a remote starter in a Gm truck (1999- 2002) with a factory theft system that you can not arm the factory alarm with after market key fob. The only way is use the OEM key fob or the power door locks.

I like to lock my vehicals as i walk away from them with the key fob (habit i guess) I also like the RS system to work as close to OEM as possible.

I noticed on this info link

https://www.the12volt.com/installbay/detail.asp?info=alarm&year=1999&make=GMC&model=Sierra&ID=17923&type=Alarm

Factory disarm = Light green(-) keyless module, Door trigger = Tan(-) light blue passenger Module below steering column, Door lock = light blue(+) keyless entry module below steering column, Door unlock = White (+) Positive trigger

I don't want to complain, but why does it not say these are all at the BCM.

Instead of keyless module and passengers module. this could get confusing.

Just a thought for novices.

Im just give your the information that is stated on this website anyone can look it up for themselves. Its not the tech sheet that i use i just give the one that on the website. As for me i make my own sheet and use a DMM to find all my wires. If you did not wish to have help then dont ask for it. Yes you would diode isolate them.

Lets not get too defensive now, no one is knocking anyone, just noticing flaws in wire info. I have what I consider by far the most superior vehicle information software (for Starters and Alarms) but it is not perfectly accurate, so I use three different databases and compare all of them. I always test the wires before I tap into them too. I have had cases where the information is different on all three and the database that I consider the least correct happened to be right in that case.
