Hello,

I am sure that this question has been asked many a times but I could not find anything searching through the forums. I have an Autopage 750 LCD installed on my 2000 Mitsu Montero Sport. Something is not right with the starter. The car will not start in really cold weather.. I have tried both tach/voltage.. the voltage seems to work better but as soon as it gets really cold, the car will not start and I'll have to use the key - which defeats the purpose a bit. Warm weather is no problem/or when the car has just been driven

My question.. could it be a defective transponder?

thanks again for any advice you may offer

Could be the transponder bypass unit you are using. Some of the units which use fixed resistors, will vary in value as the weather changes.

I would however, rule out that the vehicles battery and electrical system is sound, as well.

i have installed lots of these units and they work pretty well, did you try voltage type or timer checking type? also did you try to change the check level to low? let me know so i can help.

WARNING-be very carfull with the lcd pager/remote
               it is very, very delicate.

Try using the 555u DEI for the transponder bypass. you can get it at best buy for about 28 dollars. i had to use it on my Mitsu
