does a weak car battery have a negative affect on the range of my alarm?  i tried to start my car this morning from my bedroom, only about 25 feet from my car, and my unit didn't respond until about 10 minutes of pressing my remote. finally, the lights flashed, and it started.  by the way, it's also -30 celsius here.  but my remote also controls my sister's truck, parked next to my car, and it responded immediately.

it can be a number of things. low battery. dirty contacts inside of the transmitter.
you can always put the transmitter to your chin and try it. your body can help transmit the signal from the transmitter

yah, i've tried putting it under my chin.  i would think the weak range is caused by something within my car, cuz my sister's truck responds promptly.  maybe i'll check the voltage on my battery.  i am running 2 amps for my stereo system, and my alternator isn't rated high enough to support the current draw.
