Has anybody installed Remote starter on one of these cars. I believe a passlock module is required, but is a data bus module required also.

Anything a guy should watch out for?

passlock module dei 555L required, and has a new special configuration as follows:

The new generation GMC/Chevrolets have two PassLock wires, White and WHITE/ Black (these colors can sometimes change depending on the vehicle - always refer to DirectWire notes). The White wire must be interrupted with the Yellow wire to the key side and the BLACK / YELLOW wire to the BCM side. After all connections are completed with the exception of the Pink ignition wire from the 555L, temporarily connect the 555L Pink to the vehicles Blue ignition wire. Start the vehicle and hold the key in the crank position for 5 to 10 seconds so that the 555L can learn resistance. After this is completed, connect the Pink wire from the 555L to the Pink/White second ignition wire from the remote start unit. The Pink wire on the 555L must only have power during remote start, which the Pink/Whites wire provides.

aside from this, the rest of the install is actually fairly easy since most of the wires you'd need to find for security is at the bcm which is part of the fuse box too.

tach is white or orange at pin b or g at igntion control module on the top left of the engine, next to the oil fill cap.

good luck

Other things to note...

I haven't done one, but my shop has done 2 so far.

No starter wire connection is needed. The car will crank on its own when it sees the accessory wire drop voltage.

The factory alarm can only be controlled by the factory remote. It disarms automatically when remote starting.

If you shut the car off by remote, the car will unlock the doors since they are set from the factory to have ignition controlled locks. You can turn off that feature easily (its in the cars manual). Close all doors, turn key on, hold unlock or lock switch on door until horn beeps twice. One way will turn off ignition lock, the other way will turn off ignition unlock.
